BMT Ghana Foundation currently has over a hundred and fifty (150) patients diagnosed with severe sickle cell diseases in our database. They all have met the criteria for transplant but cannot afford the heavily subsidized cost.

BMT-Ghana is a not-for-profit project based on a private-public partnership between BMT Ghana & SCA Foundation and the Ghana Ministry of Health and Ghana Health Service developed with the objective to deliver the best quality of care at affordable and sustainable rates. The BMT Ghana Unit is located at Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Accra-Ghana.

We formally assure the supporters that any donation or pledge made to BMT-Ghana for any patients as mentioned above will be acknowledged and directed exclusively to their care. To this purpose please visit our website at www.bmtghana.org.

The total cost of transplant for matched related transplant is 35000USD and 40000USD for unrelated transplant.

Cheques or Cash sponsorships and donations should please be issued in the name of the Bone Marrow Transplantation Ghana and the name of the patient intended to sponsor indicated.

Any progress in fundraising for the patients will be transparently recorded on our website should you authorize BMT-Ghana to do so.
